In the round?!

That's right folks, intarsia in the round:

The only weird thing, and I'm pretty sure I'm doing it right, is that I end up with 2 rows of red for every 1 row of green. This isn't that big of a deal when there aren't that many rows, but over time it would add up. I'll also have to see the difference gauge makes. Oh gauge, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

Don't they end up matching because you have to go back to get the red every time you get to the end of the green section? Isn't intarsia in the round what Steph was discribing in class where you keep knitting in one direction until you find out you don't have the color you need then you go back for it?
I'm just trying it with the Inca Vest in the Knitting Page-a-day calendar. I think my rows match but I have to do some weaving in to make the intarsia interconnected (the way it should be) on one side. I'll have to see if I have that IK around somewhere.

Check out the IK, cause I was basically doing what Stephanie was talking about except that there is another extra step that insures you have equal rounds all around. It's a good article.
